Scottish Forestry
Lyn joined Scottish Forestry in Autumn 2019 in a new role as Forestry and farming development officer. This involves working to promote a more integrated approach to farming and forestry in Scotland and improve the understanding within forestry sector of farming and the opportunities to work more effectively together. As part of her work Lyn co-runs the Integrating Trees Network with Hilary Grant, a farmer-led initiative which aims to encourage more farmers and crofters to plant trees initiative. Previous to this Lyn had worked for the Soil Association Scotland since 2002, as a Farming and Land Use Development Manager, running the farming for the Future programme. Lyn has an HND in agriculture and a post-graduate qualification in organic farming and graduated from the Rural Leadership Programme. Lyn has been involved in farming since she can remember, lambing and chasing sheep, calving and feeding cows and the not-so-nice job of rolling wool.
